I cannot get my daughter who is 9months old on a good schedule. I mean I can get her up at 8 or 8:30 in the morning but she still wont lay down for the night until atleast 10pm sometimes she stays up until 1am. I don't know how to get her to go to bed earlier. Any suggestions for a bedtime schedule? Because my husband has to be up for work between 5:30 and 6:30 and the late nights are killing him.

I second the motion for consistency. I actually teach workshops on insomnia for adults, and consistency is key to our getting a good night's sleep as weel. As much regularity as possible for all activities.

I would also suggest making a tradition of singing her a lullaby before bed. This is an age-old remedy to get our children to bed based in sound reasoning — your baby has been oriented toward your voice and heartbeat since she was fetus. Lullabies allow her to reconnect with that incredibly secure, comforting feeling of being in the womb.

What are her naps like? How does she go to sleep at night- what does she do, what do you do? What is your sleep routine? What is her sleep environment like?

If you want some more help please answer and feel free to contact me.
