He pooped on the potty! Now what do I do with the mess??

My 3yo finally pooped on his potty! I emptied the pooh into the "adult" bowl, but now I'm stuck with the dirty toddler bowl. What's the best way to clean it? I think running downstairs to the utility room every time he drops a deuce will get old real soon.
Thanks!

Do you think he'll go on the adult potty? They have those potty rings you can put on your regular seat so he doesn't fall in. Something like this - http://www.amazon.com/Rubber-Ducky-Soft-Potty-Training/dp/B000WXEJV...

Otherwise, yep, you've got to clean it until he gets it in the big bowl. You could also use spray bleach if you didn't want to run down to the utility sink. Lots of spray bleach.

Good luck!

yay for your little one!

i use spray bleach and toilet paper and then give it a good rinse out at the end of each day

another good tip i read was have a potty on each floor so you don't have to do the 100 metre sprint to get the potty when your kid needs it .. so i have one downstairs and one that lives in the upstairs toilet so she knows where to find one when she needs it.

my son just started going to the potty and I was wondering the same thing! I've been using Purell - I don't know why i didn't think about spray cleaner with bleach!

You could try lining the potty with an old plastic bag, I guess. I just wiped it out with toilet paper, squirted a little hand soap in there, and called it good.

My babies were not really big with using the little potties, however. Both of them preferred to use the big potty as soon as they figured out how to shove a step stool over there and climb up.

We usually throw the poop in the toilet, and give the potty a good rinse. We would bleach it every now and but usually put hand soap to clean it.
