What do you think.. could you birth a 10 pound, 4 ounce baby naturally - at home - with NO interventions, pain killers, hospital staff - etc? Just you, a midwife and your partner?

What if you have a small body frame.. say around 5 1/2ft.. 125lbs prepregnancy. First pregnancy. 2 weeks 'overdue'

Is it possible or unsafe?

It's possible but have a very small chance. It might depend on the experience and skills of the midwife.

I can't imagine myself that way. It's too painful and life threatening. Did it happen to you?How was it?

More than possible. The human female body was designed to give birth. There are several records of babies over 10lbs being born vaginally with no interventions. The baby's head will mould to the pelvis which will have loosened and stretched during pregnancy. Movement during labor helps and the belief that you can do it helps more. There are certain things that happen rarely such as prolapsed cord and hemorrhaging which should be addressed in a hospital, but can be managed usually with the assistance of a trained Midwife and a quick transfer. I don't believe that birth is inherently dangerous and the medical studies back that up, even if you do have a big baby.

It is possible.. I had a 10lb 4oz baby at home with no problems. Only 2 small stitches. I know if I was at the hospital, I would have had a C-Section. To this day, people come up to me - and can't believe I had such a 'large baby.' I have a small frame.. but like you said.. we are designed to give birth! I wish more women would have confidence in their bodies and take advantage of childbirth as a natural process!

Agreed, completely possible. I had an intervention-free, drug-free birth at a hospital with a midwife; my daughter weighed 11 lbs 12 oz.

Wow! Great job... We are troopers for sure. And people say we can't 'give birth' to large infants...

I think that would be pretty hard and I would personally not want that to happen to me especially because I have a problem with Hemroids. If I do that it will only make things worst for me.

I had that same problem.. but like everything else, everything healed.
