Hi there..

I'm just 8 weeks pregnant with my first baby - very excited, other than the tiredness and feeling nauseated a lot!

I've already almost outgrown my usual B cup bras (except my sports bras) and I wonder if any of you have any thoughts on whether just going up a cup size in my regular bra is cool (until breastfeeding and until I outgrow the one cup size) - or are the special maternity bras they sell at Pea-in-the-pod worthwhile or important?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks so much to you both for your suggestions - it's much appreciated!

I found that I went up a cup, and later a band size. Get a bra that you can get an expander thingy for. I have Maidenforms from the outlets. Gap body (my pre-pregnancy fav.) doesn't sell the expander. I bought a couple of bras in bigger cups for my pregnancy, and have nursing bras for now. (I got them at Target, not overly expensive.)

Congrats on your pregnancy! I would say that the most important thing at this point in time is to be comfortable in your bra. I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and have increased bra sizes three times (32C - 32E). I am certain that as I get closer to my due date they may grow a bit more. I do plan to breastfeed, but have found that it was easier to just purchase an inexpensive bra in a larger size at this point in time rather than investing a lot of money in a nursing bra that I may grow out of before I actually give birth. I also found it more comfortable to stay in an underwire bra (most maternity/nursing bras have no wire) as it gave me more support. Then again, I have a girl friend that swears by her sports bra and would not wear anything else for her entire pregnancy.

Good luck!
