Anne, I also read about this place called mygym and there are a few in the area. I think the first class is free. www.my-gym.com

Hi Cheli - I found a couple sitters through Care.com. It costs 25 bucks a month to join if you're looking for a service (they also do housekeepers and dog-walkers). But it's free for the people offering services. We found a great student (who unfortunately went back to school in the fall) and our current sitter as well. We live in mid-city, but they organize it by zip code and how far the caregiver is willing to travel.

I live in the Glendale area & am looking for a good referral of a nanny or sitter for a couple days a week, like half day so I can have some time, sanity and a shower to myself once my husband goes back to work. Anyone? Forgot, I have a 5 week old boy & am new to babble. I'm just trying to set to set myself up for success before the madness sets in!

Anne, for something indoor, try Under the Sea on Beverly and La Cienega (I guess there is one in Culver City, too), or a class at Kidnasium on Wilshire in SM.

Hi there. I'm new to the playground--How many/how old are your little ones? I have a daughter who's 14 months, and I'm trying to find places to wear her out since she's learned to walk, preferably on the westside. Any suggestions?

Hi there! I'm looking to treat my wife to a pregnancy massage at a spa in LA (preferably SF Valley). Anyone have any good experiences/recommendations?

i guess we're shy here in LA ;)
in regard to your blanket question . . . i think technically they say a year, but i think the key is that your baby can roll over (and will). Like, could they get away from the blanket if they didn't want it on them? I probably wouldn't throw down a big fluffy, puffy thing, but a nice swaddle wrap . . .
