About My Family

I live in Seattle with my fiance, Patrick and our daughter, Gracelyn. We also have a lovely dog, Bender and an obnoxious cat, Maisy. We love living in the northwest with all it has to offer....can't wait to take Gracie hiking/river rafting/snowboarding!!

How would you describe your parenting philosophy?

With so many different parenting books out there telling you HOW it should be done from A-Z, it is easy to get confused with all of the conflicting ideas. Thats why I hope to be able to remember to just USE MY COMMON SENSE. Pretty sure thats how parenting has largely been done for hundreds of thousands of years, before the era of 'parenting philosophies'...I also believe in the importance of recognizing the individual in my child, nurturing her soul, and always respecting her.

What's your favorite parenting book (if any)?

The Don't Sweat it Guides

What are your family’s favorite books and toys?

My personal favorites are Goodnight Moon, Won't You Be My Kissaroo?, The Napping House, the Teeny Tiny Woman, and anything by Sandra Boynton. Gracie has recently fell in love with Clifford!

Toys? Gracie loves anything that she probably isn't supposed to have. The bath tub is the greatest entertainment at the moment, as well has her $4.99 baby pool from Target.

What are your family’s favorite TV shows or movies?

The one show Patrick & I can enjoy together is Burn Notice. We can't get enough of it. We used to watch Fringe together, but that one kinda lost us.

What are your family's favorite foods?

We can't say no to anything Asian, yogurt, waffles, macaroni & cheese, bananas. Oh and mushrooms. We looove mushrooms.

What are your family's favorite places to hang out?

We love Grandpa's backyard on the lake, our local swim & tennis club, and hanging down at Alki on a warm breezy day.

What one adjective would you choose to describe your household?

Messy & busy

What do you see your kids doing when they grow up?

Hopefully living their happiness
