Our family is made up of myself and my husband Ed, our little boy Bazeltine and our cats Percy and Lester.
What are your children's names and birth dates?
Bazeltine born April 8th 2009
Are you considering having more?
Some days we think we'll have more, other days we are so in love with Bazel that we can't imagine having more.
How would you describe your parenting philosophy?
Ed and i go with the flow. Bazel may start out sleeping in the crib, but he usually ends up in bed. During the day he may have a nap in his swing, or maybe on my lap. We don't blindly follow advice instead trying to make informed decisions whenever possible. We are also big on Bazel experiencing the world. We want him to touch, see, and hear new things whenever he can so we are often out and about with Bazel on our fronts in the carrier.
What are your family’s favorite books and toys?
Ed and I each just bought Bazel a favourite book from our childhood, mine being 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt', Ed's being 'The Cremation of Sam McGee'. I do however love reading Bazel poems from Shel Silverstein's 'Where the Sidewalk Ends' - my all time favourite book as a child.
What are your family’s favorite TV shows or movies?
I'm a sesame street fan all the way.
What are your family's favorite foods?
Pizza that we make ourselves! mmmm
What are your family's favorite places to hang out?
We're in Toronto, so anywhere! There are so many things to do here!
What one adjective would you choose to describe your household?
loving
What do you see your kids doing when they grow up?
Whatever makes them happy.
Describe your most humbling parenting moment.
My most humbling parenting moment was when Bazel wasn't gaining weigth from breast milk alone. We just couldn't seem to get it right or a couple of weeks there. Eventually it all worked out and is a power breastfeeder, but there were moments when we were both in tears.
