Eat This, Not That for Kids (not really a "parenting book", but incredibly helpful to me as a parent)
What are your family’s favorite books and toys?
Right now? Skyler (9) is reading the Judy Blume Fudge books, and Elle (2) is into any books about cute animals.
Toys--both girls are suckers for stuffed animals (Skyler now prefers the ones that have their own "virtual worlds" like Webkinz).
What are your family’s favorite TV shows or movies?
elle watches Nemo and Lady & the Tramp again and again...and again...
Skyler watches TOTAL DRAMA ISLAND.
Erik, like a true cliche, watches the History Channel
I am a sucker for Bravo reality shows. Any of them.
What are your family's favorite foods?
In all of our top fives: ice cream
What are your family's favorite places to hang out?
Fairchild Gardens, playgrounds, the beach, cool de sac, around the house, the zoo, the Grove, Scotty's or any outdoor cafe.
What one adjective would you choose to describe your household?
messy
What do you see your kids doing when they grow up?
Skyler: helping people or animals, she is very kind. Elle? The Boss of something.
Describe your most humbling parenting moment.
Having a semi-breakdown at the Village of Merrick Park when Elle was really little and I accidentally parked on a level that required you to go either up STAIRS or down STAIRS to get to anything. Which i realized only after hauling out the fussy baby, the stroller, the gear, etc in 100 degree (ok, maybe 90 degree) heat, while surrounded by really rich beautiful shoppers with NO KIDS. I turned around, packed everything back up, and left, bawling right along with Elle. Not pretty, not proud.
Hello Allison-- it seems as you are the only other Miami mom here, besdies me! This is a sad fact, but I am happy to finally find someone in my area. Welcome to Babble.
