Recovering from Hurricane Gustav
Recently, Baton Rouge was struck hard by Hurricane Gustav, leaving my family with out electricity for two weeks. Fortunately, life as we knew it (chaotic, as ever), as resumed, many others in Baton Rouge are living in temporary housing due to 600+ trees that fell on homes in my community.
Now, my heart and prayers go out to those living in the southeast region of Texas and southwest region of Louisiana. Hopefully, the rest of the hurricane season will be uneventful and pleasant.
As a business owner, I like to keep my customers and followers informed with not only my products, but events I participate in and other services or businesses I frequent. To read this month's newsletter, click here.

Lay Off Hangover
Yesterday my day started out like any other beautiful fall day, get the kids up for breakfast, dressed and off to school. I made it to work 'somewhat' on time and about half an hour later received a call from my husband. He was at my office and wanted me to meet him on the first floor. My mind is wandering of why he would be visiting me at such an early hour. I had taken only a few steps of the elevator when he stated the dreadful words, "I got laid off."
