About My Family

I am an East Coast transplant living in Los Angeles. I feel very fortunate to be living the life we're living. I am so thankful for my little girl, my sweet step-son, and of course my oh-so talented husband.

Are you considering having more?

Yes, considering.

How would you describe your parenting philosophy?

We will teach them the best values we can now, and then hope for the best.

What's your favorite parenting book (if any)?

I've read everything from Baby Wise to the No Cry Sleep Solution...I do not have a favorite.

What are your family’s favorite books and toys?

I I like books with beautiful and imaginative illustrations; we have a little collection going; Un Lion a Paris, Les Adventures d'Alice au pays du merveilleux ailleurs, The Wizard of OZ by L. Frank Baum/Lizbeth Zwerger; Full Moon, Wilcox/David and Tickets to Ride by Rolgalski. On a daily basis I carry a number of the Finger Puppet Books with me; Sofia loves the Puppy. We also enjoy, Papa, Please get the Moon for me, by Carle. Also, if you like tearjerkers, Someday by Alison McGhee and Peter H. Reynolds turned me into Niagara Falls.

What are your family’s favorite TV shows or movies?

If you have time for movies I'm officially jealous. The only movies I've seen since having the baby have been during the mommy and me time slot, and, well, I just don't think Dark Knight will be showing anytime soon. TV is a different story. Back before the writers strike I enjoyed watching The Office, Studio 60 (I'm still mad that it was cancelled), and Californication.

What are your family's favorite foods?

We like simple fare; Tuscan cooking is a favorite around here. And breakfast...we LOVE breakfast, from cereal or oatmeal to eggs benedict. I consider myself very spoiled because my husband loves to cook. I'm also a closet ice cream junkie and while the Red Mango/Pinkberry craze is still going strong, I'm still sneaking to my freezer and diving into those Snicker's Ice Cream bars every chance I get. Thank God my jogging stroller came today.

What are your family's favorite places to hang out?

We like to visit the Farmer's Market each week to stock up on fresh fruits and veggies. We also enjoy going to the 3rd Street Promenade, it seems 3rd Street has something for everyone.

What one adjective would you choose to describe your household?

Artistic

What do you see your kids doing when they grow up?

Living life to its fullest.
