Keep your baby safe by taking vitamin C, fresh fruits and vegetable that lots of vitamin. I am not sure if H1N1 vaccine is safe for pregnant woman but don't take a risk. If you are supported on Vitamin C it is not possible to have H1N1.

Well...as expected, it happened to me! The same male executive who I previously mentioned in an earlier entry graced me with one of his "compliments." He said, "Wow, you're getting bigger" to which I laughed, and then he started backpedaling... "I m…

About My Family
Currently it's my lovely husband, me and Baby O. along for the ride until November. We are both Wisconsin born, raised & educated (go Badgers), though we have lived in Pittsburgh for several years until returning to Wisconsin 2 years ago to be closer to family.
What are your children's names and birth dates?
to be determined in November
How would you describe your parenting philosophy?
Enjoy the ride & see what happens! I'm a newbie!
What are your family's favorite places to hang out?
I love to travel - so hopefully we will be able to take exciting family trips from time to time (though I'm sure hanging at home will be a favorite place). My husband & I honeymooned in Germany, and I studied in Vienna, Austria, and spent 1 summer in Tokyo. I hope our child will share our enjoyment with exploring different cities / states / countries.

hands off!!

Okay, so I can tolerate the occasional belly pat or touch here & there....especially when people ask permission first. I had one person in the office who routinely would give my belly a pat or two (after asking and admitting that she loves pregnant bellies), and was generally fine with it. Relatives & friends are also permitted to touch my belly, though I can't say I had MANY takers throughout the past 9 months. That has been just fine with me since I am not an overly "huggie" person.

"You're getting bigger!"

Well...as expected, it happened to me! The same male executive who I previously mentioned in an earlier entry graced me with one of his "compliments." He said, "Wow, you're getting bigger" to which I laughed, and then he started backpedaling... "I mean, that's what pregnant women are supposed to do. And you don't look pregnant from behind. You look good." Ahh...I just laughed! Tact is not this man's friend, though God bless him for having his heart in the right place.

29 weeks - wearing a tent!

I've officially reached the stage of pregnancy where tent-wearing is inevitable!! I have resigned myself to the fact that I will do my best to look professional & put-together at work, but with a growing belly, there is only so much you can do!! I am wearing things that I never thought I would - black jersey, sort of stretchy pants that are just SO comfortable (famous last words of a What Not to Wear fashion victim). Ultimately, I think everyone understands, and a more comfortable outfit wil… Continue

What to Wear...

After 28 years of experience, I typically do not struggle to pick out an outfit everyday. I generally like what I can find in my closet and usually leave the house looking pretty well put together – especially in the business formal attire that we are supposed to wear at work. The ever changing pregnant body of mine definitely shook things up a bit!!

Around 20 weeks, I dreaded getting dressed every morning because I was never quite sure what would fit or look good. I felt a little awkward weari… Continue

Out of the Mouths of Adults?

Typically small children are known for making funny or awkward comments to which adults respond by cooing, “Oh isn't Suzie adorable!” When adults make such comments, it's hard to be as forgiving.

Case in point – at work I overhear a male executive say to a 8-months-pregnant-employee, “Wow, you look good from behind!” She of course accepts the compliment, as any 8 months pregnant woman in her right mind would do. A simple: “You look good” would have been sufficient in this scenario.

As my own b… Continue
