I'm a single mom and I have a daughter Ella, 9 months. We are having a great time together and I'm loving every minute!

What are your children's names and birth dates?

Ella - 9 months

Yes, Yes, Yes

How would you describe your parenting philosophy?

I'm pretty laid back. I want her to be her own person ... when she gets bigger, I hope she'll be able to make her own decisions with me nudging her in the right direction!

What's your favorite parenting book (if any)?

You're Baby's First Year - Week by Week

What are your family’s favorite books and toys?

Book: Mommy Hugs; Toy: A plain old rattle shaped like a telephone we stole from her cousin (we have to return that soon!); Stuffed Animal: Mona the Cow from Latitude Enfant! She loves her!

What are your family’s favorite TV shows or movies?

Sesame Street, of course!

What are your family's favorite foods?

Breastmilk for Ella and a nice green salad with chicken cutlets, broccoli and rice all mixed together for me (although no broccoli lately since I'm breastfeeding!)

What are your family's favorite places to hang out?

Grandma's house and Central Park

What one adjective would you choose to describe your household?

Relaxed

What do you see your kids doing when they grow up?

Ella's a genius already so maybe she'll cure cancer? Possibly win a Pulitzer? She's also really tall, so maybe a professional basketball player. Or, a famous artist or the next great architect? Well ... If I'm going to speculate - I might as well go for the gusto!

Describe your most humbling parenting moment.

It's all been humbling. Giving birth ... learning to breastfeed (we had a lot of trouble, but she's finally nursing like a champ -- still at 9 months, YEAH!) ... staring at her while she sleeps so soundly ...
