Originally from Toronto, Canada, I am an ex-owner of a shoe designing/manufacturing company turned Stay At Home Mom, Children Photographer, and Gallery Owner. As a new parent, I created the MilkMonster Laughs blog in July 2007, when my son MilkMonster (aka MM) finally turned 6 months and started sleeping through the night. I was then able to get my head out from under the dark covers of sleep deprivation to share my adventures and struggles of mommy-hood, but mostly because I needed an outlet to keep me sane in a day of all things baby. Since then, my family and I have grown. My second son MiniMilkMonster (aka MMM) was born 2 months premature in May 2008 and In addition to my Children Photography Service, MilkMonster Laughs Photography, I have opened MilkMonster Laughs Gallery, Hong Kong's first ever art gallery which features contemporary and inspirational art for children created by artists from around the world. I thank everyone for the incredible support we've received and for coming along on this journey we call life. Love, Keiko (aka MilkMonster Momma)
MilkMonster is 26 months

Are you considering having more?
Nooooooo....well....actually I'm not sure.
How would you describe your parenting philosophy?
I'm a pretty easy going but strict mom...if that even makes any sense. I want to give my children the freedom to be and express who they are but I also think kids should clean up after themselves and be self sufficient when they are capable of doing so.
What's your favorite parenting book (if any)?
Raising Boys, The Complete Secrets of Happy Children
What are your family’s favorite books and toys?
A Boy and His Bear
A Girl and Her Gator
I Love You
Uh Oh Gotta Go
What are your family’s favorite TV shows or movies?
I like Grey's Anatomy, Lipstick Jungle, and Private Practice BUT we don't watch TV with the kids unless they're sick and really cranky and then it's anything with Animals,Music or Sesame Street.
What are your family's favorite places to hang out?
We travel a lot as a family so I would have to say the BEACH!
What one adjective would you choose to describe your household?
Fun
What do you see your kids doing when they grow up?
Being caring people
Describe your most humbling parenting moment.
Being covered in poo poo while out in public. That's pretty awful.
Who are you looking to meet on The Playground?
Anyone really. I love to see how other people live their lives.
Quite the opposite, my role & responsibilities as a father are the greatest moments of my life. As I said, I couldn't give a damn about someone else's opinions when it comes to my family. I share with my daughter she can very much exist within an environment without feeling that environments' vibe. NYC is more our style anyway. Do you know how we respond to the ignorance of others........we don't! Hopefully your husband feels the same.
Hey....I dig your blog. I came across it just this moment. I'm a father a 4 year old daughter, I own & operate a chef production co. & work from home. We travel regularly as well (Business & holiday). At the moment we're applying to primary schools in NYC. My lady is Japanese & can't wait for the move in April. If you're up to it let's exchange kid's menu sometime. Btw ~ We love beaches too!
