Some combination of attachment parenting and minimal acquisition of stuff. The attached minimalist? But I'm discovering that a lot my plans go out the window once Leo's own preferences enter the mix...
What's your favorite parenting book (if any)?
The only two I use are classics: Penelope Leach "Your Baby, Your Child" and William Sears "The Baby Book"
What are your family’s favorite books and toys?
Nursery rhymes and anything that has sound effects or rhymes - plus anything edible while also being read. I'm going low-key with the toys since Leo currently loves to play with (but not eat from) his plastic spoons and dishes. He's also a big fan of measuring cups and spoons.
What are your family’s favorite TV shows or movies?
He's too young for TV. Hoping to minimize that too. But I'm currently loving "Mad Men"
What are your family's favorite foods?
He'll eat anything. Knock wood that stays true. I'm a sucker for anything sweet - a trait I'm afraid he's inherited.I don't plan to have many eating rules. I want him explore and enjoy the entire range, from spinach to double chocolate chip cookies.
What one adjective would you choose to describe your household?
Unconventional
What do you see your kids doing when they grow up?
Whatever makes him happy
Who are you looking to meet on The Playground?
Other parents, particularly single parents, with wisdom to share and somewhat similar philosophies.
