I get lots of comments about the boys. Most people ask how I can tell them apart, to which I reply, "I just can." Then I point out the few differences the boys have. But when I wrote that comment, I was talking mostly about my family. Some of my b...
Interesting post! We actually have an interestingly similar, yet different issue. Our 1 year old twins are boy/girl, different sizes, different skin tones, different hair textures, etc. A lot of people aren't sure if they're twins, even though to ...
Thanks for the note awhile back! Yours are such cuties. Our two are now 11 months old, which is so hard to believe. We have a 1 year birthday party planned, which we say is actually for US to celebrate surviving a year! :-) Hope you're enjoying watching them grow. It goes fast. Enjoy them!
Hi, Shelly. Thanks for your note about Anka. I'm actually a landscape photographer by trade but have been practicing my people pictures since she joined our family. Your boys are darling, too. Such deep blue eyes! They look very happy and content. Looks like you'll have an interesting year ahead!
"I am sure that time does fly. I feel like we were just doing three hour feedings round the clock, and now they are smearing green beans and rice all over their high chairs! I love your girls' names. How far along were you when you found out it was twins? And did you know from the get go that they were identical? (I am assuming yes cause of the TTTS)"
I was about 8 weeks along when we found out we were having twins, but I actually didn't know that they were identical until they were a few months old :-p I know a lot about TTTS now, but I knew nothing then and it wasn't diagnosed until after they were born (it only showed up in the last month of pregnancy... or at least what turned out to be the last month, since they came 10 weeks early). They explained what happened to me a little in the hospital, but not much and everything was kind of hazy then anyway :-p So, it wasn't until months later, when I really started reading up on TTTS (and everything twin related), that I found out that TTTS only affects identical twins.
"We can't decide what we think and are too broke (from having twins!!!) to pay to have the test done yet. I suppose time will tell.
Logan was much smaller than Jack (4.6 and 6.13 were their sizes) at birth, so the differences have just begun to even out now."
Well, they definitely look identical to me! :-) The only differences are the ones I see in my own girls, which are mostly because of the size difference. They were the same when they were first born... Josie was 2 lbs., 12oz. and Anna was 3 lbs., 15 oz. (and she was beet red from being overloaded with blood). They've evened out a lot over the years, although Anna is still slightly bigger than Josie.
"Always nice to meet another mom with TWO!"
Nice to meet you, too! I've visited other boards here and there, but I stopped visiting for awhile... when I stumbled on this site, I decided to join and do a little chatting again :-)
Let them figure it out. Which includes letting them feed themselves, get dirty outside, and get frustrated enough with their toys to figure out how they work. I also believe in reading, lots of outside time, and at least 100 kisses and hugs a day!
