- April, Aaron, Esme and now Judah live in Brooklyn where we walk our dog, swim at the Red Hook Pool and have regular dance parties.

- What are your children's names and birth dates?
- Esme B - she turned 2 in February '08. And introducing Judah who arrived March 17th, 2009!
- Are you considering having more?
- Nah, these two occupy my time pretty well.
- How would you describe your parenting philosophy?
- We laugh a lot at our daughter. Is that wrong?
- What's your favorite parenting book (if any)?
- Michel Cohen's, The New Basics
- What are your family’s favorite books and toys?
- Esme has the Elmo addiction, so anything that looks like Elmo and maybe speaks, dances or pees in the potty is good with her. She also obsessively collects babies, much to her mother's consternation.
- What are your family’s favorite TV shows or movies?
- See Elmo problem above. Also Yo Gabba Gabba and Charlie & Lola for TV. We let her watch The Wizard of Oz even though very age-inappropriate and she totally loved it and in spite of all of her mothers flinching, did not seem scared of the monkeys.
- What are your family's favorite foods?
- She has an entire song about rice, I would say that qualifies as a 'favorite'.
- What are your family's favorite places to hang out?
- Habana Outpost in the summer, Coney Island, Prospect Park Zoo, Camel Park!!! And at friend's houses, Oona and Daphne's and Wiles and Ashland's.
- What one adjective would you choose to describe your household?
- Goofy
- What do you see your kids doing when they grow up?
- Supermodel neurosurgeon. Both of them.
- Describe your most humbling parenting moment.
- When I realized that all of Esme's friends were allowed to drink juice that wasn't watered down, have lollipops and play with pennies and yet they still lived.

It also got me to thinking when I would let a child travel alone for that amount of time. I just can't imagine......the airline virtually ignored him. Was that because he was with our family or would they have ignored him anyways. what if he was sitting next to a creep? I think it'll be a while before mine get to fly solo!

elvira said… - hi - not really sure why you would see a lactation specialist before you had any problems actually feeding, maybe if you had something specific you needed resolved, like something you had with your first baby that were worried my re-occur. but i am a firm believer of researching before the event - but you know lactation councellors are around and in spain at least you can go to weekly gatherings or just call a number for any question, small or complex. chech liga de la leche for you nearest group.
