About My Family

We live on whole bunch of land in New Jersey with some dogs, kittens and chickens and we love it most of the time. Sometimes we miss being able to walk to a coffee shop but hey, we hear nothing but crickets at night. We are a family of three: a momma, poppa and toddler and we are TTC another monster to add and complete our bunch. I'm a writer, he's a designer, and we are happy as clams.

Are you considering having more?

We are trying for another.

How would you describe your parenting philosophy?

Go with the flow. We are a homeschooling family with an eclectic outlook: a little Montessori, some Waldorf, and a tad of unschooling. We play all day, go outside, make crafts, and pet kittens as often as possible.

What's your favorite parenting book (if any)?

Feminist parenting books.

What are your family’s favorite books and toys?

The illustrious kitchen helper, lift the flap books, wooden bars, trains and cars, dollhouses, fairy tree house with gnome figures, and homemade things from Etsy that are too pretty to play with.

What are your family’s favorite TV shows or movies?

Little Bear and the nature channel when bears or whales are featured. We also like Planet Earth and Disney's Earth...

What are your family's favorite foods?

Quiche! Pumpkin Pancakes! Cheese, fresh bread and fruit! Chicken!

What are your family's favorite places to hang out?

The kitchen, outside in the grass under a tree, in the woods, in bed

What one adjective would you choose to describe your household?

Messy messy messy but filled with fun objects.

What do you see your kids doing when they grow up?

Whatever they fancy.

Describe your most humbling parenting moment.

My daughter walking around with her diaper around her ankles at the farmers market - it took me about five minutes to figure out why people were smirking at us.
