Resorts might be antithetical to the jet-setting experience—which, I think, seeks the authentic in travelling—but sometimes a parent’s just got to give in.

In that case, check out ResortCompete.com, an online booking tool that claims to have the “Largest Collection of All-Inclusive Resorts on the Web.” With more than 700 listings, and notices on resort specials, the site allows you to search for your favourite resorts and request quotes.

ResortCompete.com does a pretty good job of covering world-wide resorts beyond the US-Caribbean-Mexico triangle—Turkey, Tunisia and New Zealand (Huka Lodge, pictured), anyone?—which you can browse by destination or search with specific criteria in mind (Family, Kids Club, price ranges). Resort profiles include such helpful information as hotel offerings, package features and local attractions, but if all else fails, you can call to speak with a live agent.

In fact, after a quick peek, maybe resorts today aren’t that bad.
