About My Family
We are the Three Musketeers...Danielle (me), Jason and Sophie. We live in West Michigan, where I am a SAHM/student and Jason works in printing. We bought a house about a year ago that we are constantly working on and we spend a lot of our free time with family. For us, the coolest thing about being parents is re-discovering the world as Sophie discovers it for the first time.

What are your children's ages and names?
Sophie 12.30.06
Are you considering having more?
Possibly in the very distant future.
How would you describe your parenting philosophy?
Boundaries (& discipline) with an equal mix of great love and respect for her individuality.
What are your family’s favorite books and toys?
Books: Goodnight Moon, any type of picture book, my parenting magazines (always on the lookout for babies!), books with textures, and a book my mother-in-law picked up at Walgreens for $2 called Opposites (go figure!).
Toys: Sophie likes blocks, frying pans with lids and wooden spoons, Tupperware, stickers, beanie puppies, notebook with a pencil, balls, baby dolls, cell phones, keys, the computer key board, the remote control and digital cameras
What are you family’s favorite TV shows or movies?
Sophie likes Elmo, Zoe, and the whole Sesame Street crew for about 2 minutes at a time.
Who Wants to be a Millionaire (really!)
What are your family's favorite foods?
Broccoli, noodles, cereal bars, oatmeal, strawberries, grapes, peas, bread and butter, eggs, breastmilk...pretty much anything, but she is not a big meat eater.
What one adjective would you choose to describe your household?
Fun.
Describe your most humbling parenting moment.
Thus far, I haven't had a moment exactly. It is more of a realization overall. When I was pregnant, I was quite positive that my daughter would wear cloth diapers all of the time, all of her food would be homemade and organic, she would go to preschool never watching a minute of TV, her entire wardrobe would NOT be pink, etc. Then Sophie was born, and I realized that although nutrition and diaper choice and all of that are important to an extent, what really matters is the love and attention she receives from me. So yes she wears a tremendous amount of pink and she can identify Elmo in a line up, but she seems to be thriving anyhow...and has a far more relaxed and present mama too.
