We're an unmarried secular humanist family of three. Our little man will be 6 months of age in May. When we aren't working or doing research we spend our time playing with our son, reading books, writing, and posting on various political, science, and parenting blogs and message boards. We're also known to become terribly addicted to nerdy RPGs and violent video games. Every once in awhile we actually interact with the rest of humanity.
Are you considering having more?
Nope. I'm afraid one is my biological limit. By choice that is. We do hope to adopt eventually.
How would you describe your parenting philosophy?
Reasonably AP.
What's your favorite parenting book (if any)?
Parenting Beyond Belief, by Dale McGowan
What are your family’s favorite books and toys?
We don't know about the books yet, but he freakin loves his jumperoo.
What are your family's favorite foods?
Everything except the green stuff.
Describe your most humbling parenting moment.
When I realized that, yes, colic is very real and it happens to the best of us. I'm sure once I've forgotten all that heartache I'll miss those first few months. But right now I'm just glad they're over.

I also used to play nerdy RPG games on my computer and my PS and PS 2. Stopped after giving birth to my DD, there's no time for that and I miss it, but of course I have my parenting boards which have replaced my RPG games and video games in general.
Of course someone on BBC talked about neopets and I wondered what the big deal is and now I'm addicted :( What can you do...a gamer is a gamer.
We dont play as much as we use to, sometimes that makes me sad...other times im happy about it. Eric use to play D&D, I never have. I love war games Halo, Mercenaries,Splinter Cell, and so on. But my real dorky self comes out with my true video love which is a MMORPG..Lineage2. I played it for years, but slowed down when I got Pg and then pretty much now dont play at all. Like I sad I miss it..but I don't. So don't worry...if your a dork...im a dork too!! :)~
Oops. I had no idea about that BBC rule. Oh well, I wont be hurt if they shut it down.
We were hoping for adopting a child from another country, no preference..but financially it would be hard. I would have adopted long ago if it wasn't about money...so we are going to research fostering to adopt here.
